The Birth of

Personal Touch KreAtions

June 2007, shortly after getting laid-off from my job, my husband was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumor and doctors gave him one year to live.  My whole world was turned upside down and inside out overnight.  Dealing with his illness was a very tense and stressful time for me.

One day I was looking through one of Jo-Ann’s Craft Stores newspaper ads and noticed an advertisement for jewelry making classes.   Little did I know signing up for the classes were going to be the start of saving my sanity.  I signed up for the beginner and intermediate classes.  I applied the knowledge and skills I learned from the classes to perfect my own personal touch to creating beaded jewelry.  Jewelry making gave me such joy, allowing me a brief escape from the hopelessness of our situation.

Four years later my husband, still very much alive and kicking, decided to buy a house in El Paso, Texas to be closer to his family.  While working with different kinds of mixed media techniques, an unexpected happy accident of spilling paint inspired me a new creative way of making jewelry from paper.

Late 2014, since my husband was doing exceptionally well, I decided it was time to open an online store and share my creativity with the world.  However, it was short lived, for my husband’s brain tumor returned.  Again, my world was turned upside down, however in my spare time I continued working on my jewelry.

October 2017, my husband passed away, I was lost for a while.  Now I am in a better place in my life and ready again to share my craft with the world.
